IN THE BEGINNING - 1997
I have dreamt of having a yellow chopped Chevelle since I bought my first car back in 1988, which was a Chevelle.
As barely seen in the picture, on the roof is a plastic model that I chopped and painted yellow many, many years ago.

My dream finally came true after all these years. In the picture above, taken back in 1997, that is my Son holding up the pieces while I get the stilts in place prior to welding. You can see all the sections that the roof was cut into before being filled with steel. These spaces were necessary to keep the original angle of the windows.
Originally, I was going to make the roof fiberglass and removable, but then realized I would have difficulty taking the roof on and off and storing it. It just would not be practical. The compromise was a Cadillac power sun roof. It helped brake-up the fact that the roof grew much bigger in order to keep all of the windows at the same slanted angle. Which also meant getting all new custom glass and cutting down the windshield.

For years, I drove this car with the original motor, open rear, TH350, power disk brakes, rear brake drums. I have added factory power trunk opener and trunk light, power windows and power locks and door poppers.
